Lake Taupo (panorama)

The morning after doing the crossing, we headed back up to Taupo to then head west to Hawkes Bay. This is the lake with wide-wide angle. The coast on either side is a straight line... the stitch has morphed it. The lake was formed by the underlying volcano blowing its top, quite literally. The eruption is put down as a possible reason for the extinction of the dinosaurs.
